Rubycon sideboard
Minimal form, maximum variety of expression. The Rubycon concept allows the creation of unique, free-standing cabinets through customisation, giving the possibility for making eye-catching, focal pieces that are in tune, or in contrast, with the particular interior into which they are placed. The Rubycon concept uses the repetition of a single storage ‘cube’ to create a horizontal column in five different lengths. The ‘cube columns’ rest lightly on a thin steel leg frame with delicate joints. Each storage ’cube’ can be purposed for a variety of storage needs. The Rubycon cabinets gain their expression from the relationship between each cube and its neighbours. These
simplified ‘cubes’, designed without visible handles or knobs, can be understood collectively as a three-dimensional blank canvas. The client has the possibility to choose from a range of painted colour options as well as various wood finishes to customise their ‘blank canvas’. The Rubycon concept places the freedom of choice of the finishing, available in the different wood and colors of arflex collection, into the hands of the customer, allowing them to create a furniture piece that is as graphic or as subtle as the situation demands. The base is in metal, lacquered white, black, gun metal grey or golden, only for the cabinet with two cubes.
