First step dining chair
Christophe Pillet’s design philosophy can be summed up in a few eloquent words: “I am not on a quest for the extraordinary, but rather for that which is beautiful and able to kindle emotion in the ordinary”.
This impassioned exploration of the essence of things is also fully developed in the design of the First Steps chair whose lyric simplicity seems to trace back to the archetypal object-chair.
The sinuous structure that rises to form the metal backrest has a painted finish, while the tightly woven seat material is entirely hand-made in either paper cord or paper rush cord.
The same design and materials appear in the bar stool, whose refined appearance translates to undeniable versatility, making it a tasteful and discreet fit in any setting
